Photographs: South Carolina, UConn NCAA championship groups go to President Joe Biden at White Home

The White Home hosted not one, however two NCAA championship groups Tuesday when the South Carolina ladies’s and UConn males’s basketball groups visited with President Joe Biden to have a good time their 2024 nationwide titles.

Up first was South Carolina, which defeated Caitlin Clark and Iowa in April for this system’s third nationwide championship since 2017. Daybreak Staley, who coached all three championship groups, joined Biden hand-in-hand to stroll to the ceremony within the White Home’s East Room.

There, Biden was offered with a No. 46 South Carolina jersey with a nod to his standing because the forty sixth U.S. president.

Biden praised South Carolina for serving to elevate the profile of ladies’s sports activities in the course of the ceremony.

“I believe it’s truthful to say everybody, everybody watches ladies’s sports activities now,” Biden mentioned. “When new followers look ahead to the primary time, when younger ladies see their idols, they see the facility of your instance.”

He then posed for a photograph with members of the workforce.

South Carolina Rep. James Clyburn (D) and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R) had been available to have a good time the Gamecocks.

Later within the day, Biden hosted the UConn males, who secured their second consecutive nationwide championship with a win over Purdue in April’s nationwide title sport. Biden escorted head coach Dan Hurley to the East Room for the ceremony.

Guards Stephon Fort and Cam Spencer had been among the many UConn gamers in attendance. Each had been chosen in June’s NBA Draft.

Heart Donovan Clingan, who, like Fort was a lottery decide within the draft, offered Biden along with his No. 46 UConn jersey.

“Clearly, you have to have one thing within the water up there,” Biden mentioned in a nod to a program that now has six nationwide championships.

Biden then confirmed off his new gear for the cameras.
